The reviews are in and I give Spiderman 3- 4 stars! Granted, the movie would have been much better in a non-Cedar City theater with a broken speaker right above my head that sounded like loud crumbling paper on all the quiet parts. Besides that minor hiccup that the rest of you will not have to worry about, I thought the movie was great! They did a good job keeping the guys entertained with the intense action & the girls will like the mushy love stuff. And the awesome graphics will be eye candy for every viewer, young or old, male or female. There were a few cheesy parts, but that's come to be expected from a comic book-turned movie.
Has anyone else seen it? What were your thoughts?

Our History
Aah, love! James & Keri West met in April of 2006. After a quick courtship and brief engagement, they were married in the Mount Timpanogos Temple on October 7th, 2006. They began their married lives together in Cedar City, Utah, while James finished his last 2 years at Southern Utah University. They thoroughly enjoyed their first 17 months of marriage until their lives were blessed with their first baby boy, David James West, on March 6th, 2008. What a joy! James graduated from SUU in May of 2008 and quickly accepted a position as Assistant General Manager of a brand new Holiday Inn Express in Kanab, Utah. After less than a year, James was promoted to General Manager. We welcomed our second son, Steven Watts West on May 22nd, 2009. We then welcomed our sweet Jared Duncan West, on July 12th, 2011. Life is a busy one with 3 little boys, but we wouldn't have it any other way! We learned unexpectedly that we will now be expecting our fourth (and last) baby in June of 2013. We are eager to meet the completion of our family!
David
David James West is our oldest son and such a little charmer! He will be turning 5 on March 6th. He is such a good helper around the house, but definitely has his independent moments. He enjoys going to preschool and his class at church to play with the other kids and learn. He loves his little brothers and enjoys wrestling with them & Daddy. He knows his colors, numbers, shapes and letters very well. He writes his name really well and his learning how to read. He is a determined little boy and loves to ask LOTS of questions. Even with his fiesty moments, we love him and enjoy every moment with him.
Steven
Steven is our bowl full of energy and love! He will be 4 years old this May! He loves his brothers and loves music! He especially loves getting up and dancing when he hears music on the TV. He speaks so well, sometimes too well. :) He's getting used to going to his Sunbeam class on Sundays. He has really enjoyed going to preschool this year with his big brother. He has learned lots of letters this year and can even write his name now. So proud! He's a serious snuggler and loves to give us cheesy smiles.
Jared
Jared is our sweet little snuggler. He will be 2 years old on July 12th. He loves his blanket and drags it around most of the day. He loves to dance and wrestle with his brothers. He runs around and chases his brothers all day. He loves to hug and snuggle with the whole family. He is such a light and blessing to our family.

Hmmm... I didn't really like it. I know, I'm probably going to get stoned for this comment, not the drug kind either, but the kind where people throw actual stones at you. I thought it was cheesy, and too many sappy moments. So because this opinion is not a popular one, and will probably incur the wrath of several of my dear family members, I will leave this comment totally and completely anonymous.
Really? Well, we are all entitled to our opinion. I will admit that it was cheesy & sappy at parts, but I thought the visual effects were awesome! Thanks for commenting.
My husband went and saw it. He didn't like it very much. Kind of like the person who commented first on this.

I haven't seen it yet, but it looks like I should see it to settle the dispute! But my initial thoughts are...what are you expecting from a comic book movie, deep and profound moments instead of cheesy and sappy moments? Sorry thisisnotcraigitssomeoneelse that wasn't meant to be a "stone", just my initial thoughts without seeing the movie!
I think I'm holding it to X-men standards...which is comic-bookish, in more of a "kick-booty-no sappy moments practically at all style". You and kitty are right though, when you adapt a comic book to the big screen it's bound to have those moments...
The special effects in Spidey were unbelievable though!! it's amazing how far they've come with digital effects, etc... The action sequences were also awesome!
I think I might have to agree with "thisisnotcraigitssomeoneelse" on that it was way to sappy. I did however love their interpitation of Venom though he was never neamed in the movie the black suit in the movie when not on Spidermen was known as Venom in the comics. I thought it wasa very well done. Toby is just a really geek anywase so trying to act cool just didn't turn out right. And what the heck was the deal with his hair when he had the suit, It's like as soon as Parker was wearing the suit his hair gell no longer worked.
There where definetly parts that could have been changed but all in all I liked it!!
